Product Stewardship

This portion of the Responsible Care code manages products from their beginning research stages all the way through to recycling and disposal.

Georgia Gulf begins its stewardship effort with a purchasing policy that encourages raw material suppliers to adopt practices as strict as those required by Responsible Care. Performance issues related to environmental, health and safety concerns are addresses immediately with all suppliers. Nonconformance is reviewed, analyzed and tracked for trends.

Our company also conducts research and hosts technical exchanges and trial demonstrations with customers in order to promote safe and proper processing of materials.

And finally, as part of Georgia Gulf's effort to ensure safe handling of its products, we produced instructional videos that illustrate safe unloading procedures for our commodity chemicals. These videotapes are available, upon request and free of charge, for our commodity chemical customers.
